The Beadroom
Where It All Began
The Beadroom began in 2016, with a beautiful understanding of what waist beads can mean to women.
In many African homes, waist beads are part of growing up. They sit close to the body. They move with us as our bodies change. They are worn through joy, rest, celebration, and becoming. They remind us to notice ourselves.
We started The Beadroom because we wanted waist beads that felt gentle, intentional, and rooted in where we come from — beads that did not ask women to change their bodies, but instead asked them to listen to them.
"There is no right way to wear waist beads — only your way."
The Beadroom, since 2016
Made for Real Bodies
Our beads are made for real bodies and real moments. Some women wear them every day. Some wear them for wellness or body positivity. Some wear them for ceremony, love, and celebration. There is no right way to wear waist beads — only your way.
We are a Zambian brand, rooted in African craft and womanhood. Since 2016, we have continued to handcraft with the same intention we started with: to create pieces that honour the body, carry story, and feel like they belong to you.
